From 1 July 2025, we’re making some important changes to enhance operations at Palmerston North Airport.
All carparks at Palmerton North Airport will become 100% cashless, meaning we will no longer accept cash payments at any pay station. Instead, we will continue to offer a range of digital payment options, including credit, eftpos or debit card and mobile wallet (like Apple Pay or Google Pay),
As part of the transition to becoming a cashless carparking facility, we’re excited to introduce a new QR Code Scan to Pay option. Just scan the displayed QR code with your smartphone, type in your licence plate, complete the payment online, and you’re done. It’s fast, secure, and app-free. You will find the QR code and signage adjacent to pay stations and throughout the terminal.
We know change can take a little getting used to, so we’ll have signage and staff available during the transition to guide you through the process.
As part of our regular review process and to keep up with operational costs, some of the tariffs in both the Long Stay and General Carparks will have a modest increase. from 1 July 2025. For pick-ups and drop-offs, 15 minutes free parking will remain. This adjustment helps us continue delivering reliable, safe, and well-maintained parking facilities.

Please note that a minimum of 48 hours parking is required when booking in the Long Stay Car Park.

Yes. We’ll have clear signage in place and staff on hand to assist you with the new payment options during the initial transition period.
No. From 1 July 2025, cash will no longer be accepted at any pay station in our carparks.
