After several years of planning, preparation and construction, Waitomo Group’s Fuel Stop has opened in Palmerston North Airport’s Ruapehu Business Park.
PNAL’s Chief Executive Officer, David Lanham said “We are excited to welcome Waitomo to Ruapehu Business Park and congratulate the team at Waitomo for selecting Ruapehu Business Park as their preferred location within Te Utanganui – The Central New Zealand Distribution hub, its a highly visible location that will prove very popular with Airport Drive and Railway Road users.
Ruapehu Business Park is destined to play a major role within the growth of Te Utanganui, facilitating the expansion of air freight and logistics operations and associated complementary businesses.
Waitomo’s newest Fuel Stop is located on the corner of Setters Line and Railway Road.
Along with a convenient location for airport customers and the public alike, Waitomo offers competitive fuel pricing and a range of fuel options available with at their 24-hour unmanned site. Payment options include EFTPOS, credit card, Amex, Waitomo Fuel Cards and in-vehicle payment with the Waitomo apps.
In 2023, Waitomo Group, along with their partners Hiringa Energy, will also offer hydrogen at the Fuel Stop for heavy transport operators, as part of their first-of-its-kind national hydrogen network.
Waitomo Group’s Managing Director Jimmy Ormsby said the opening of the Palmerston North Airport at Ruapehu Business Park was an important strategic milestone for the family-owned business.
“Huge growth and development of the wider Manawatū has made the region a key enabler for New Zealand’s transport links, so it made good sense to open another site in the area, complementing our two existing Palmerston North Fuel Stops. And being able to add hydrogen refueling to the site next year sealed the deal.
“Seeing this vision come to life is particularly poignant for me as the third-generation owner of Waitomo, given Waitomo celebrates its 75th anniversary this year. What a way to cement in the transition to a low-emissions fuel future for the fourth generation of the Ormsby family. We’re grateful to our partners at Palmerston North Airport for their support to make this a reality.”
Waitomo has been fueling Kiwis across New Zealand since 1947 and has built their business on the foundation of great people, top performance and a fairer price for your fuel.
