Parking overcharge refund information

Did you park in our General Carpark between 11 August and 21 September 2022 for more than 33 hours?

Some customers have been impacted by a system software error and may be eligible for a refund of any overcharged amount.

Some customers who parked at the Palmerston North Airport in August and September this year may be eligible for a refund of any overcharged amount after a system error saw a number of our customers overcharged for their parking.

The error impacted customers who parked for over 33 hours in the General Carpark between Thursday 11 August 2022 and Wednesday 21 September 2022, with the overcharged amounts ranging between $0.50 to $22.

While we have been able to identify and automatically reverse charges to credit and debit cards, we are still trying to identify customers who paid for parking with cash or via their Eftpos card.

Customers who believe they may have been impacted are invited to check their eligibility for a refund through this form. If eligible and all relevant information has been provided, refunds will be processed in 10 working days.

There are a number of options available for impacted customers, these include:

  • Receiving a refund directly to their nominated bank account; or
  • Receiving a parking voucher; or
  • Having the overcharged amount donated to Wildbase Hospital.

If you are a customer affected, we apologise for the inconvenience the issue has caused. We have implemented changes to make sure this does not happen again.
